LEGAL & EXPEDITION CONDITIONS

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking a motorcycle expedition with Morocco Motorcycle Trips. By confirming your reservation and placing a deposit, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.

1. Expedition Operator & Legal Entity

These Terms & Conditions govern all guided and self-guided motorcycle tours organized by Morocco Motorcycle Trips:

2. Booking, Deposit & Payment Schedule

To secure your motorcycle tour or enduro expedition:
  • Initial Reservation: Reservations are requested via our website booking forms, direct email, or WhatsApp consultation with our tour leads.
  • Booking Deposit: A deposit is required to lock in tour dates, reserve specific motorcycle models, and confirm guide availability. The exact deposit amount is specified in your personalized expedition itinerary quotation.
  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance is payable prior to tour departure according to the agreed schedule or upon arrival at our Merzouga expedition base before motorcycle handover.
  • Payment Methods: We accept verified bank wire transfers and official payment relays arranged during your direct reservation confirmation.

3. Rider Licenses, Experience & Gear

Motorcycle touring in Morocco involves diverse terrains including mountain passes, desert tracks, and gravel trails:
  • Driver's License: Every rider must hold a valid motorcycle driver's license (e.g. Category A or international equivalent) valid for the engine capacity of the booked motorcycle throughout the tour duration.
  • Rider Age & Experience: Riders must be at least 21 years old and possess adequate riding experience suitable for the chosen tour difficulty level (Scenic Road, Mixed Off-Road, or Pure Enduro Dunes).
  • Mandatory Riding Gear: Full safety gear is compulsory on all riding days, including a certified motorcycle helmet (full-face or enduro/adventure with goggles), armored jacket, protective riding pants, riding gloves, and sturdy motorcycle boots.
  • Personal Insurance: All participants must maintain comprehensive travel, medical evacuation, and repatriation insurance that explicitly covers motorcycle riding in Morocco.

4. Motorcycle Usage, Security Deposit & Fuel

Our rental fleet comprises professionally maintained dual-sport and adventure motorcycles:
  • Motorcycle Handover: A joint inspection is conducted prior to departure, noting vehicle condition and mileage. The rider accepts custody and responsibility for the motorcycle during the tour.
  • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is held during motorcycle handover to cover potential damages, negligence, or loss of components. The deposit is released in full upon return of the undamaged motorcycle.
  • Permitted Use: Motorcycles must only be operated on roads, designated pistes, or approved desert trails in accordance with the expedition itinerary and lead guide instructions. Reckless riding or unauthorized stunts are strictly prohibited.
  • Fuel & Fluids: Guided tour packages include support vehicle assistance and route refueling coordination. Riders on self-guided tours are responsible for purchasing fuel at designated service stations.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that unexpected travel changes can occur. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email or WhatsApp:
  • Cancellations 60+ Days Before Departure: Deposit is transferable to an alternative expedition date within 12 months, minus administrative and banking transfer costs.
  • Cancellations 30–59 Days Before Departure: 50% of the deposit is retained to cover pre-booked desert bivouacs, local guides, and fleet reservations.
  • Cancellations Under 30 Days Before Departure: Deposit is non-refundable due to committed expedition logistics. We strongly advise riders to purchase comprehensive trip cancellation insurance.
  • Cancellation by Operator: In the rare event that Morocco Motorcycle Trips must cancel an expedition due to force majeure, extreme weather warnings, or unforeseen border restrictions, riders receive a 100% refund or full credit transfer to a rescheduled tour.

6. Safety, Guide Authority & Route Flexibility

Rider safety is our absolute priority in mountain passes and deep desert dunes:
  • Guide Authority: On guided tours, the lead tour guide holds ultimate operational authority regarding route pacing, rest stops, weather diversions, and safety protocols. All participants agree to follow safety briefings.
  • Itinerary Adaptations: Severe sandstorms, flash floods (oued crossings), mountain snow closures (Tizi n'Tichka / Tizi n'Test), or road repairs may require rerouting. Morocco Motorcycle Trips reserves the right to adapt itineraries for rider safety without reducing overall tour quality.
  • Sobriety & Conduct: Operating any motorcycle under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or impairing medications is strictly prohibited and results in immediate tour termination without refund.

7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. Any dispute arising in connection with our expeditions shall be submitted to the amicable mediation of Morocco Motorcycle Trips leadership before any legal recourse, subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Morocco.
